MELISSA HAWKINS

Melissa Hawkins is the firm’s Office Administrator, serving in that capacity since formation of Marshack Hays Wood LLP. She was a key participant in establishing the original administrative and business functions of the firm and has continued to manage all administrative processes through a period of dynamic growth.

Ms. Hawkins has over 25 years of experience in law firm administrative positions with specific experience in accounting, human resources and management support to partners. She is a member of the Association of Legal Administrators-Orange County Chapter (OC-ALA) and an active participant in ALA events. She has served on the executive board of OC-ALA as Treasurer-Elect (2015-2016) and as Treasurer (2016-2017). As well as serving on the extended board and on various committees.

Among her areas of expertise, Ms. Hawkins has handled the complex logistical process of firm and records relocation and is responsible for all IT operations. As a strong believer in efficiency, Ms. Hawkins manages a firm-wide effort to keep the operation paperless where appropriate and keeping technology updated for efficiency workflow. Her responsibilities in non-legal firm management include all financial management and accounting, human resources, marketing, vendor selection and contracts, insurances, payroll, tax planning and building maintenance. She reports directly to the founding partners of the firm and in addition to her other duties, she manages the firm’s administrative support staff.
